Another Vadivelu film to hit screens

Actor Vadivelu who was last seen in Prashanth’s Mambattiyan which hit screens in December 2011, will be seen next in Marupadiyum Oru Kadhal (MOK). Directed and produced by Vasu Baskar, the movie will have Vadivelu play the role of a quack who performs wrong surgeries on his patients.

Says the director, “In one of the sequences, he stitches the abdomen of a person with a helmet inside. The scene is simply hilarious.”

While the the scenes were canned before the state elections, the comedian actor dubbed his portions only later. It should be noted that Vadivelu campaigned for DMK in the last elections and was not seen in any movies after the AIADMK came to power.

MOK has Anirudh, who has already acted in a couple of Malyalam films, playing the lead. Joshna who is the daughter of yesteryear actor Saroja, plays the female lead. Saroja, who acted in lyricist Vaali’s directorial venture Vadaimalai, is a relative of actor Radhika as well. She was Rajini’s classmate at the Taramani Film Institute.

With Joshna travelling to London even as the film shoot was on, the crew decided to shoot  the remaining portion of the film in London. These scenes were earlier planned to be shot in Singapore and Malaysia.

The movie is certified with a U/A, and will hit the screens this month.
