Gautham upbeat about Thanga Meengal

Gautham Menon maybe going through a rough patch with his former producer Elred Kumar, with the duo wrapped up in legal tangles. But it looks like there is a silver lining in his dark cloud after all.

The director, who is producing Thanga Meengal under his banner Photon Kathaas, is upbeat about the film. The trailer has crossed the one lakh viewership on the Internet and Gautham is pleased with the response.

The film has Katradhu Tamil director Ram wielding the megaphone once again. He is also playing the lead role of a father in this tender story about a father-daughter relationship. The film was delayed due to several reasons, and the audio will be launched soon.

Music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja and the film also casts actors Sadhana, Sally and Padmapriya.

Thanga Meengal is set in a small town and has an emotional pull which, Gautham feels, will strike a chord with audiences. According to Gautham, the songs are ‘soulful and sweet, like the Yesudas and Ilayaraja combination songs of the past’. The camerawork is by Arbhindu Saaraa and editing by Sreekar Prasad.
