Sivakarthikeyan

Sivakarthikeyan seems to be having a dream run, especially after Ethirneechal’s success. Next on his plate is a film with top producer-director Lingusamy. Sivakarthikeyan discloses, “I will be doing a film produced by Lingusamy and Bose’s Thirrupathy Brothers. The details are still being worked out. I am very happy, since, after director Pandiraj — who gave me a break as hero — Lingusamy has always held a special place in my heart.”

Sivakarthikeyan goes on to disclose the reason. “Four years ago, when I had just won the comedy show Kalakapovadhu Yaaru, Lingusamy saw my performance and asked me to audition for his production Vazhakku Enn 18/9. I thought it was for a friend’s role but he told me to audition for the hero’s role. He asked me ‘Why cant you be a hero?’,” recalls the actor.

Encouraged by his words, Sivakarthikeyan went for the audition but the role required someone younger. Destiny had other things in store and it was Pandiraj who spotted him when he compered at the Vaagai Sooda Va audio launch and offered him a role in Marina.

Smiles Sivakarthikeyan, “After so many years, I am finally getting to work in a Lingusamy production now!” The actor has more reason to smile. He will also be doing another film with the successful Ethirneechal team of producer Dhanush and director Durai Senthilkumar. Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming release is Varthapadaadha Valibar Sangam directed by Rajesh’s assistant Ponram.
