Beware of Sibiraj's new co-star!

Naayigal Jaakirathai. That is the name of Sibiraj’s new movie. And guess who’s his co-star? That’s right. A dog!

Sibi will be sharing screen space with a military trained canine in the Shakthi S Rajan film. Touted to be a thriller-comedy, sources say that the doggie would be playing on of the heroes in the film. Along with playing the hero, the dog would also do several action sequences and comedy tracks in the film.

Sibi is a dog-lover and has expressed his eagerness in working with animals in the film. “I’m a dog lover. I have three dogs at home. When this idea of making a film with a dog struck me, I decided to go ahead and make it. The dog plays an important role. I’ve been looking for a different script for a while. I thought this would make an interesting film for the audiences,” said Sibiraj in an interview to news agencies earlier this year.

Sibi was last seen in a negative role in 2010 Tamil thriller Naanayam, which was also directed by Shakthi S Rajan.

“I haven’t come across any interesting films and that’s why I was out of action. I only want to do films that are different and meaningful,” he had said.

Naayigal Jaakirathai is being produced by dad Sathyaraj’s banner Nathambal Film Factory, which had earlier produced Sibi’s Lee.

The other interesting thing about the movie is that lyricist Madhan Karky has penned the lyrics of one song with a lot of ‘different’ words, according to a press release from the banner. Filming started on October 9 and is expected to be complete by the end of the month. Sibi’s other co-stars include Arundhathi, Manobala, RJ Balaji and several theatre artistes from Koothu-p-Pattarai.
