Taapsee

Taapsee, who is known to do all her stunts without body double, shot an adventurous underwater scene for the upcoming Tamil comedy horror film Kanchana-2, on her own. The scene required the actor to be underwater for 12 long hours.

On the first day of the shoot, within six hours, the actress started feeling uncomfortable and breathless. Panic struck on the sets and a doctor was called for immediate check up. However, within a day or two, Taapsee was fit enough and resumed the shoot.

Talking about the experience, Taapsee said, “I remember the director had asked me if I wanted to work for six hours and then come back to do the remaining work. But I wanted to get done with it once and for all. I couldn’t come out of water in between breaks because it was December and the evenings were a little chilly. We shot the scene from from 6 pm to 6 am!”

Kanchana-2 is directed by Raghava Lawrence and the star cast includes Nithya Menon, Kovai Sarala, Devadarshini and Sriman in important roles, besides Taapsee. The movie is the third in the series that includes Muni and Kanchana: Muni 2, and is set to hit the theatres soon.
