For some time now, there have been reports claiming that actress Dhansikaa will be playing Superstar Rajini’s daughter in his next flm, Kabali.
Ask the actress if that is indeed her role in the film and she says, “I have been roped in to play a very important role in Rajini sir’s film. I haven’t been told what the role is though. I have complete faith in Ranjith sir and the team and I’m so excited to be a part of his film.”
How did Dhansikaa know she had been picked for the role? “I was shooting in Madurai for Kalaiarasan’s film when I got to know that Ranjith sir wanted to meet me. I went to his office and he told me that he had seen my films and could relate to the way I had portrayed certain characters on screen. He said he had a very important character in Kabali and wanted me to take a test. A week later, I did a look test during which I tried to showcase different emotions. Ranjith sir, however, told me he wanted me to be myself. I did just that. Three days later, I received a phone call from his office that I had been chosen for a very important role in the film.”
Dhansikaa says she will begin shooting for the film from September 18 in Chennai. “I have been told that we will also be shooting in Malaysia and a few other countries as well,” says the 22-year-old actor, who has Meera Kathiravan’s Vizhithiru and Kalyan’s Kaathadi waiting to hit screens next. “After Kabali, I will begin work on Samudrakani sir’s film, Kitna,” she adds.
