Rajarajan bags TN theatrical rights of Baahubali 2

The Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali - The Conclusion, which is on the verge of completion, has been bagged by SN Rajarajan of K Productions.

This apart, he also holds Tamil Nadu rights for the Telugu release, as well as the overseas rights for Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil. The man has earlier bankrolled the Ashok Selvan-Bindu Madhavi-starrer Savaale Samaali earlier.

Reliable sources say that the TN rights have been secured for a massive sum of ` 45 crore. Baahubali 2 will be released worldwide on April 28, next year. Baahubali 2 will conclude the epic saga of two warring brothers for a kingdom and has Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia and Anushka Shetty.

Meanwhile, we hear that Rajarajan was able to bag the release rights because of his collaboration with Rana Daggubati. They have teamed up for a big budget bilingual titled Madai Thirandhu, a period drama, deals about Subhash Chandra Bose’s Independence movement, set in 1940s. Madai... will have Rana, Regina Cassandra, Nasser and Sathyaraj in important roles. We hear that the shooting for the same, will start in Kerala on August 19.
