2 Days, the 126-minute film, by Nizar was completed in a single shot
One-take venture

Generation Y is totally hooked on to their gizmos, wandering through various social networking sites from morning to night. And built on this alarming premise is 2 Days, a film that explores various aspects of the situation. “The invasion of social networking sites in our lives is a reality. The film tries to figure out the positive and negative sides of it,” says Nizar, director.

The film revolves around four girls, who have known each other only through facebook. “Ann Mary, Pooja, Anamika and Vandana are quite successful in their respective fields and they are well-known figures in Kerala and outside. Then they decide to meet up and eventually land in Kovalam for a get-together. What they go through there forms the crux of 2 Days,” he adds.

But the USP of the 126-minute-long film is that it was completed in one single shot. “When I heard the subject I felt it would be great if I can film it in one shot. I had watched single-shot films like Victoria and decided to give it a try. We have used Red Epic camera for the film,” he says. Since it was a real challenge to complete the film in 126 minute the cast and crew members had a 8-day rehearsal camp before the shoot.

The film starts at the beach and from their it moves to a speed boat and resort where most of the action unravels. “The film has three songs including two DJ songs,” he says. The film has only 12 artists in its cast. While newbies Gouri, Jeevitha, Anakha and Digina play the lead characters, Samudrakani, Riyaz Khan and Sunil Sukhada step into other important roles. The film produced under the banner of JS Films is expected to hit the screens shortly.
