Rajinikanth is once again collaborating with director Pa Ranjith for actor Dhanush’s home production venture. Actor-producer Dhanush took to Twitter and said that Wunderbar Films would helm the Superstar’s next film, which will be directed by Ranjith.
He wrote, “I am so proud and to announce our production’s next film. Superstar Rajinikanth-Pa Ranjith for Wunderbar Films (sic). My sincere thanks to all the fans, friends, media, press, well-wishers for all the wishes and blessings for the biggest announcement I ever made.”
Also, Ranjith had re-tweeted Dhanush’s post with his trademark ‘Magizhchi’. It looks like that this untitled flick will be released after Shankar’s mega-budgeted project 2.0, a sequel to Enthiran (2010), which is to hit screens next year.
Pa Ranjith had directed Rajinikanth in Kabali (2016), which turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2016. Expectations are now sky high for this upcoming yet-to-be-titled venture. However, it isn’t clear if the project is a sequel to Kabali or a different film altogether. But well-placed sources say that it would be a sequel. “Or else, why would Dhanush attach a Kabali video with his tweet,” a source added.
It’s being said that Dhanush has taken permission from producer Kalaipuli S Thanu to continue the Kabali franchise with the second part.
Earlier reports were rife that Ranjith would direct Suriya; however, the filmmaker denied such rumours, which were doing the rounds online.
