As soon as the actor heard about the sudden demise of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, he rushed back to the Chennai, from Bulgaria, where he was shooting for his latest movie.
Reports suggest that Ajith, after arriving at the Chennai airport, went directly to Marina beach, where Jayalalithaa was laid to rest adjacent to her mentor MGR. Ajith was accompanied by his wife Shalini, they were spotted paying their tribute to the late chief minister late night.
Ajith had earlier missed out on paying his respects to the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister at Rajaji hall for public mourning as he was caught up in the shoot for director Shiva's untitled flick.
Thala' Ajith has always been considered close to the former AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa.
Jayalalithaa had been undergoing treatment for over two months at Chennai's Apollo Hospitals. She had passed away on December 5th at 11.30 pm as a result of cardiac arrest that she had suffered on the previous day.
