Shanthnoo Baghyaraj is confident his next film, Mupparimanam, will impress. The actor, who has been tight-lipped about the film until now, opened up to City Express recently.
“Mupparimanam is a love story, but it deals with another dimension of love. I don’t think a film has ever dealt with this aspect before. Everyone who watches this film will be able to connect with it. Mupparimanam will definitely make a mark and set the standard,” says Shanthnoo.
The film, directed by Adhiroopan (who has worked with directors Kathir and Bala), is about two youngsters, played by Shanthnoo and Srushti Dange.
“I play a character called Kathir and Srushti plays Anusha. The film is about what happens in Kathir and Anusha’s lives from the time they are eight till they turn 25,” says Shanthnoo, adding that work on the film is almost done.
“We only have some patchwork and songs to be completed. Once that’s done, we will be ready to release it. However, it will be released only after the elections,” he says.
The crew has shot extensively in places like Pollachi, Challakudy and Alleppey. “While the first half of the film takes place in Pollachi, the next takes place in Alleppey,” says Shanthnoo.
Music for the film is being scored by G V Prakash and editing is by Vivek Harshan, who won a National Award for his work in Jigarthanda (2014). The film, which also features National Award winner Thambi Ramaiah and Appu Kutty, has been shot by cinematographer Raja, and has an impressive list of technicians.
