CHENNAI: Did you know that RG Torney shot a Marathi play in lesser than four hours and screened it? Till  date, the makers have claimed it to be the quickest movie ever made. Now, filmmaker MS Selva has attempted to direct a Tamil film titled Aradavanukku Irundadhellam Pei, in 10 hours. Selva tells City Express, “I have been in this industry for more than 15 years and I wanted to ‘create a record’. So, we began shooting this movie in a big house from 7 am and completed it by 5 pm the same day. We also shot two songs and a montage which last for more than two minutes.”  He is quite confident that this would make it to either Guinness Book of World Records or Limca Records.

The director says everything was possible due to the prior rehearsals that took place. “A lot of planning has gone into it. Technicians, supporting artistes and lead actors cooperated extremely well. The film’s message to the audience is be happy with whatever comes to you and lead a content life,” he adds.
Arandavanukku... has Saravanan, Anu Krishnan, Singam Puli, Crane Manohar, Nellai Siva, Kumaresan, and others in important roles. Music is by Raja and the song lyrics have been penned by Selva himself. “Though we have completed the shooting, post-production work is pending. We’re looking to get the movie released some time soon,” he shares.

But were the group of members from the Guinness team present at the location spot? “No, they asked me to have this whole thing on a specific date, but I couldn’t accommodate all the artistes that day. I’ll explain these practical difficulties to the team again,” he shares.
