What is surprising is Shankar, who is known for not letting out details from his movie sets, has gone out and released a full one-and-a-half minute video from the location.

The team of '2.0' has released a short video of the making of the movie, much before its release. The video shows glimpses of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar working on the set, and the prosthetics team converting the superstars into their respective characters.

What is surprising is Shankar, who is known for not letting out details from his movie sets, has gone out and released a full one-and-a-half minute video from the location.

The video is cut in a typical Shankar film style with transitions that would remind you of scenes from 'Padayappa'. There are also shots of the team building replicas of tanks to use in the scene, as well those of huge sets, cars blowing up and the shooting of an essential (probably climatic) action scene at a stadium.

Watch the video here:

Superstar Rajinikanth and director Shankar, who is famous for his larger-than-life stories are coming together for the third time with '2.0'. Produced by Lyca Productions, the highly anticipated film is a sequel to the 2010 hit 'Endhiran'. 2.0 is touted as the costliest production for Shankar, who until Baahubali happened, was celebrated for spending extravagant amounts on his productions, which resulted in extravagant films.

While Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar plays the villain in the movie, Rajinikanth reprises his role of Chitti - the robot from 'Endhiran'. A R Rahman, who composed music for Endhiran, has worked on 2.0 as well.
