Veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja will be opening a film school, Bharathiraja International Institute of Cinema in the city. It will have courses on direction, acting, cinematography, editing and compositing, VFX, sound design, production and set designing.
There are plans to introduce courses on stunt direction, choreography too. Lyricist Vairamuthu, Muthukumar, vice president, Bharathidasan University, directors Mahendran, Mani Ratnam, Priyadarshan, Rajiv Menon and musician Gangai Amaran and actors Radikaa Sarathkumar and Suhasini Mani Ratnam are on board as honorary consultants.
