The lead cast along with the makers left for Cannes on Tuesday night, when the actor tweeted, “Off to Cannes for the launch of Sangamitra. A dream come true.”

Meanwhile, an official statement from director Sundar C reveals that Sangamitra, which will be told in two parts, is a tale that goes back to the 8th century AD and tells the trials and tribulations of the titular character, and traces her journey to save the kingdom.
