Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari of Amma Kanakku fame will next helm a film based on kabaddi. Produced by Fox Star Studios, the film is currently in the scripting stage, with Ashwiny developing the story along with the production house’s creative team.

“My quest for telling stories from the heart found a partner in the like-minded Rucha and her team from Fox Star Studios. I am totally thrilled to get to direct another story which is so close to my heart,” she says.

Tamil cinema isn’t new to kabaddi, with films like Kudumba Thalaivan, Ghilli and Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu all being centred on the contact sport.
