Director Vi Anand is yet to come to terms with the phenomenal success of his last release Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada (EPC), which starred Nikhil Siddhartha, Nandita Swetha and Hebah Patel.

While Anand gears up for his next project with Allu Sirish, he has revealed that he really wants to direct the Hindi remake of EPC.  “The Hindi remake is definitely on cards and talks have already been initiated. We plan to do it after Sirish’s project.

A few leading production houses have already expressed interest to co-produce the remake,” Anand said. The remake will be bankrolled by PV Rao, who produced the original. Asked if he has zeroed in on his probable lead cast for the remake, he said, “I haven’t met any Bollywood actor yet.

But I would really like to work with Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha. When the time is right, I will approach them and see how things pan out.”

The film is also being remade in Tamil but Anand won’t be directing it. “My producer wants to start the Tamil remake by next month. I won’t be available because my project with Sirish starts from March, and I can’t juggle two films.” Industry grapevine is that GV Prakash Kumar, who has half a dozen projects in his kitty, might star in the Tamil remake.

“Nothing has been confirmed yet. We have screened the film for a few leading heroes including Vijay Sethupathi and Sibiraj. Prakash has also seen the film and he’s quite interested. The remake will be jointly produced by the original producer Rao and Escape Artists Madan.” Talking about his film with Sirish, he said, “Avasarala Srinivas has been finalised for a pivotal role. The rest of the cast yet to be locked.”
