Vaitla hopes for a strong comeback

Filmmaker Srinu Vaitla is hoping that the new year will bring about a change in fortunes for him.

Filmmaker Srinu Vaitla is hoping that the new year will bring about a change in fortunes for him. The director, who had delivered hits like Dhee, Ready and Dookudu, was written off completely after back-to-back flops – Aagadu and Bruce Lee.

After the debacle of Bruce Lee, a dejected Vaitla took a while to return to the fold, with stars reluctant to work with him. After a quiet 2016, which didn’t feature a single release for him, Vaitla is confident to make a comeback with upcoming film Mister.

“This is a special film in my career. For a long time, I have been searching for a script which has strong visuals, emotions and music. Finally, I have found it with Mister.

We have travelled extensively to shoot for this film. We shot mainly in Spain, and covered even the lesser known Spanish towns. Apart from that, we also shot in Switzerland, Hyderabad, Ooty, Chikmanglur, etc.

Our final schedule will begin in Kerala shortly,” Vaitla said. Feauturing Varun Tej, Lavanya Tripathi and Hebah Patel, Mister is slated to release on April 14.
