For Natasha Assadi, Miss India Universe 2015 first runner-up, acting was nowhere on her bucket list, until last year. She confesses to being content with her career in modelling, but when several acting offers in Telugu and Kannada films began coming her way, she began contemplating about it.

“When I was in Mumbai on a vacation, someone from the organising committee approached my mother to convince me to take part in Miss India beauty pageant.”

The model-turned-actress will soon make her debut in Sampath Nandi’s Gautham Nanda, in which she plays Gopichand’s secretary.

“I could connect with my role in the sense that she’s an NRI, well-educated and a fashionista,” she says. Born and brought up in Oman, she graduated with a degree in marketing and business from London before she moved to Mumbai.

“I’ve always been keen on starting my own business, but for now it’s only films,” she says.
