BMW’s X6 gets Coupe makeover

German auto giant BMW, soon after unveiling its four-door 6 series, is now set to give its Indian afficionados a peek into the world of the new X6, the facelifted Sports Activity Coupe which has done extremely well in different parts of the world. Ammar Alvi has more on the new X6.

With the launch of X6, BMW gave way for a new segment, a cross hybrid which not only appealed to hundreds and thousands of people around the world but also made sure that advancement in technology and innovation is a key to success and to future.

The X6 was BMW’s perfect amalgamation of sportiness, luxury, thrilling driving and comfort of a SUV bundled with coupe-like design. Till date the company has managed to sell more than 1.5 lakh units worldwide since its launch. With the new refreshing changes done to the X6, the company hopes that it will continue to expand this segment and appeal to more customers.

The X6 now bears a more aggressive look and a better design keeping the BMW DNA intact but taking it to the next level. The new X6 now has the fog lamps positioned higher than the outgoing model. There is also a new design radiator grille, modified tail lights that make this SAV more prominent along with new design alloy wheels which gives it the sporty feel. The front bumpers are also modified and go well with the front overhangs.

As far as the engine is concerned, the new X6’s engine is expected to be the same as the outgoing model. There is a five-litre V8 and three-litre that produce 407PS and 235PS of power respectively. The company will also place in both the models six-speed automatic dual-clutch transmissions. Overall the new X6 will be a very good option for many Indians who prefer to have a unique design and features that represent both a SUV and a coupe. We expect the company to price it upwards `75 lakh ex-showroom.
