The Delhi police on Thursday claimed to have prevented major terror attacks in Delhi and Mumbai by arresting three Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists.
According to Delhi Police anti-terror special cell, the three IM terrorists -- Asad from Aurangabad, Sayyad Feroz from Pune and Imran Khan from Nanded -- were also wanted in Pune serial blasts case.
Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar said that Delhi police anti-terror special cell have solved the mystery behind the Pune serial blasts case with the arrest of the three terrorists. He also said they had close links with Abu Jundal, Lashkar operative currently in the custody of the NIA for 26/11 Mumbai attack.
“They also planned to attack Bodh Gaya temple. We have informed the police force there to ensure proper security to the temple. They are linked to Zabi-ud-din alias Abu Jundal. These three are from IM, they are directly related to Faiyaz Kagzi of Lashkar. IM and Lashkar are related to each other in many ways,” Kumar Said.
While Asad and Imran Khan were picked up on September 26, Sayyad Feroz was arrested on October 1. The police have also recovered huge cache of arms and explosives from the arrested terrorists.
Delhi Police are looking for Raju Bhai, said to be the main handler of the three terrorists in Delhi, sources said.
Faiyaz Kagzi, a Lashkar operative, is wanted in Aurangabad arms haul case, German bakery blast and 26/11 Mumbai terror attack case. Kagazi, who hails from Beed district in Maharashtra, had given training to Mirza Himayat Baig in Colombo. Baig, who played a key role Pune German bakery blast in 2010, is being tried in the case. The blast in 2010 claimed 17 lives, and injured at least 60.
