Bihar court directs police to lodge case against Raj, Uddhav

Taking cognizance of a complaint against Raj Thackeray andUddhav Thackeray on charges of making inflammatory speeches against migrantsfrom Bihar and its people, a Muzaffarpur court today directed the districtpolice to lodge a case against them under relevant sections.

Chief Judicial Magistrate S P Singh gave the direction toMuzaffarpur district police chief Rajesh Kumar on a petition filed by anadvocate seeking action against them for their hate speeches.

A case was also filed in Gopalganj against Shiv Senapatriarch Bal Thackeray, Uddhav, party executive president, and MaharashtraNavanirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray accusing them of making provocativespeeches.

Adam Ali, a journalist of Urdu daily "Quami Tanjeem'filed the case in the court of chief judicial magistrate Sanjay Kumar Sinhacharging the Thackerays with making hate speechs against Biharis, saying it maydisrupt peace and communal harmony and fuel regional sentments in the country.

He also said that Raj Thackeray's statements describingBihari migrants as infiltrators amounted to a "brazen violation" ofprovisions of the Constitution that allows citizens to move freely and settledown in any part of the country.

Similar petitions have been filed against the Thackerays inBhagalpur, Nalanda and West Champaran courts besides, in other districts ofBihar over the past few days.

The MNS chief had described the Bihari migrants asinfiltators and threatened to drive them out of Mumbai and Mahashtra followingthe Bihar government's protest against the arrest of an accused in the AzadMaidan violence from his native Sitamarhi district by the Mumbai police withoutinforming the local administration.

The Shiv Sena patriarch and his son Uddhav had also joinedforces with the MNS chief and made comments to deride Bihari migrants. Udhaveven demanded issuance of permits to Biharis to visit Mumbai and others partsof Maharashtra.
