Kingfisher opens doors for FDI

A day before making a presentation to lenders on the revival plans for the cash-strapped Kingfisher Airlines (KFA), its Chairman Vijay Mallya on Wednesday said the carrier is in talks with overseas airlines for investment.

Mallya, who spoke to the media after the United Breweries annual general meeting held prior to the KFA meet,  confirmed that the airline was in talks with foreign carriers as there was immense growth opportunity. “It’s a bit early to say that there is a status report that I can give anyone.

“It’s enough to say that we are holding talks and in response to how close we are, I said the policy was announced only ten days ago. You can go so fast and not faster,” he said. He also said that domestic investors were enthused as foreign carriers were showing interest in investing in KFA.
