Delhi MLAs to donate one month's pay

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday said that MLAs of the Delhi Assembly would contribute `10 lakh each out of their MLA fund towards the the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for flood victims in Uttarakhand. The decision follows Dikshit’s announcement last week to provide `10-crore aid to Uttarakhand. The legislators would also contribute one month’s salary to the fund. Leader of the Opposition Vijay Kumar Malhotra slammed the government alleging lackadaisical attitude in helping Delhi citizens stranded in Uttarakhand.  The staff of Tihar Jail have decided to contribute one day’s salary to the floo-hit state.
