Gujarat, where development has failed to reach the common man, cannot be considered as a model at any level, opined Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty.

Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, he said that Labour Minister Shibu Baby John had already admitted that his meeting with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was wrong, and there was no need for more interpretations.

He added that Kerala was a model to other states in both the skill and human resource development sectors.

The visit of Shibu Baby John to Gujarat and his meeting with Modi had unleashed a political controversy in the state with many UDF leaders disapproving him. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has sought clarification from Shibu Baby John on the issue.

On the crisis in the UDF, Kunhalikutty said that the JSS would not leave the front and there were no issues in the UDF.
