It has also received from the ministry status report of files and some records related to the allocations which are under CBI evaluation. As the ministry has not provided them with any list of ‘missing records’, the agency hadn’t registered any case.
“The ministry has provided only those documents which are available with it. They are yet to give a list of missing records, if any, and file a complaint. Then only we will register a case,” a CBI source said.
On September 2, the CBI submitted details of ‘missing files’ regarding coal block allocations made to 26 companies to Attorney General G Vahanvati. Over the past few months, the agency has been facing hurdles in accessing the files of pertaining to the allocation to joint venture companies and private companies in connection with which the agency has filed 13 cases.
“Four months have passed. Have you filed an FIR for the missing files? Is it an attempt to destroy the records? Truth must come out,” the Bench had said.
