NEW DELHI: The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on Monday following an uproar by the opposition parties over the issue of price rise. The House was earlier adjourned twice over the same issue.

The opposition had sought adjournment of question hour to discuss rising prices, but Speaker Sumitra Mahajan did not agree. This led to a ruckus, followed by two adjournments.

Amid the din, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the house for the day.

Meanwhile, the Rajya Sabha took up a discussion on price rise. While the opposition blamed ruling NDA for pushing inflation further since it came to power, the BJP tried to blame the previous government, calling inflation a "legacy of the UPA".

Starting the debate in the upper house, Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad slammed the BJP for taking steps which resulted in increasing inflation.

Earlier, after attending an all-party meet, Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu had said that the government had no reservation on any issue and was open to discussion.

"We are willing to discuss each and every issue depending on its national importance and also the admissibility of the same by the respective presiding officer," Naidu had said.

The rail budget is scheduled to be presented on July 8 and the general budget on July 10.
