Kanth Incident: Cong to Take Out Peace March on July 26

LUCKNOW: A day after BJP announced to hold state-wide dharnas to protest against the alleged police atrocities against its party leaders in the recent Kanth incident, Congress today said it would also take out a "peace march" there on the same day.

"The Congress cannot remain a silent spectator. We have decided to follow the peaceful path of Mahatma Gandhi and take out a peace march in Kanth on July 26," Uttar Pardesh Congress president Nirmal Khatri said.

"There is a need to establish peace and brotherhood," Khatri said, adding that the party would play its role of messengers of peace through this march.

BJP had yesterday said that it would hold state-wide dharnas, to protest against the alleged police atrocities against its party leaders and workers during a recent incidence of violence in Kanth area of Moradabad district.
