Kawad Yatra: Three Lord Shiva Devotees Killed in Muzaffarnagar

Three Lord Shiva devotees were killed in separate incidents in Muzaffarnagar and Shamli districts here, police said today.

MUZAFFARNAGAR: Three Lord Shiva devotees were killed in separate incidents in Muzaffarnagar and Shamli districts here, police said today.

One Kawad devotee Tara Chad [40] was killed when a passenger train knocked him down at a crossing near here yesterday, they said.

In the second incident, Anuj Kumar [21] was electrocuted? when he came in contact with an electricity wire at Khatoli town in the district, police said.

A 17-year-old Haryana-based devotee Deepak Kumar?drowned in Yamuna river?at Kairana in Shamli district, they said.

The incident took place yesterday

when he was bathing in Yamuna, Sub-Divisional Magistrate S K Mishra told reporters here today.

He was on way his way to Jind from Haridwar after collecting Holy water, he said, adding his body was recovered from the river during Kawad yatra.
