CUTTACK: The cross-examination of the Kandhamal gang-rape victim nun continued through today with the defence focusing on the incident and its aftermath. The defence cross-examined the victim nun on the occurrence of the crime and other aspects related to it. They also wanted to know her movements after the incident.
Defence counsels Sourachandra Mohapatra and Sarbeswar Behera asked about her whereabouts following the press conference she held in New Delhi. She was asked about the whereabouts of Father Thomas Chellam at that time too.
The nun stated that she was in New Delhi. After the case was handed over to the Crime Branch, the investigation wing contacted the Archbhishop of Bhubaneswar Raphael Cheenath, who gave them her address at New Delhi. The agency recorded her statement in Delhi. The cross-examination remained inconclusive and would be resumed on Monday.
