Union Minister of Home Affairs Sushilkumar Shinde had an ‘unusual guest’ in his North Block office on Friday as Shahid Balwa, an accused in the 2G scam case, walked in.
Although the meeting could trigger a massive controversy, Balwa said he met the minister seeking his intervention to expedite the reply to an RTI application filed by him. Balwa was arrested by the CBI on February 9, 2011 for his alleged involvement in 2G Spectrum scam.
He was also under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate for allegedly transferring `200 crore to the DMK family-owned Kalaignar TV.
