Didi Steps Up Attack Against BJP, Modi
West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress president Mamata Banerjee on Friday stepped up her attack against the BJP and singled out the BJP Government in Gujarat, saying it had received huge funds from the Centre for developmental works while her state received peanuts.
Addressing a workers’ meeting in North 24 Parganas district, she said: “The BJP is contesting in all 42 Lok Sabha seats here just to divide the votes and help the Congress and the CPM. Do not vote for them as they will not come to power at the Centre.”
Without naming Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, she said: “There is a media hype about Gujarat and everyone seem to be saying ‘Namo, Namo’, but I feel it should be ‘no no’.” She also alleged that the saffron party organised communal riots across the country.
