In a major embarrassment to the BJP, yesteryear Bollywood hero Shatrughan Sinha, who is the party’s candidate from the Patna Sahib constituency, encountered strong protests from dissident party workers as he was on his way to file the nomination papers. And the irate mob waving black flags accused Sinha of ignoring the constituency, from where he was elected to the Lower House in the 2009 elections. However, Sinha’s supporters took on the protesters and beat them up. Sinha, who is also known as ‘Bihari babu’, along with his wife Poonam, son Luv and a sizable number of supporters filed the papers. “The protest was just a move to get media attention by a small section of people,“ the thespian said. Incidentally,Sinha had faced similar protests near the BJP headquarters here on Thursday. And an FIR was registered against Sinha’s supporters following Thursday’s clash. Although, Sinha had been offered a BJP ticket from some Delhi constituency, he had turned it down.
