Quality Health Care Can Never be Neglected: UPSC Chairman

The quality of medical care and service is of utmost importance and cannot be neglected at any point in time, said Union Public Service Commission chairman D P Agrawal here today.

He was speaking at the 18th convocation of National Board of Examinations, an autonomous organisation in the field of post graduate medical education and assessment.

Professor Agrawal emphasised the important role that teachers play in imparting values and education system to students.

He also presented gold medals to meritorious candidates for their successful performance. A total of 65 gold medals in 22 specialities were given during the convocation ceremony.

Professor K Srinath Reddy, President of National Board of Examinations, in his address asserted that NBE is continually endeavouring to contribute to the health system through launch of various innovative programmes such as DNB Emergency Medicine, FNB Sports Medicine and many others.

He emphasised on the fact that medical education system needs to be continually driven towards excellence and development to meet the growing health care needs of the country.

On this occasion, NBE Awards for Excellence were also presented to the distinguished faculty members with position of leadership in the field of medical education and NBE accredited institutions Sir Gangaram Hospital and St Stephen's Hospital were conferred awards for their valuable contribution to DNB programme.
