PANAJI: The autopsy of the 23-year-old German girl who died during a recent rain marathon in Goa has not been able to ascertain the exact cause of her death, police said today.

"The doctors at Goa Medical College and Hospital who conducted postmortem have not given any opinion on the cause of death," Agassaim police inspector Uday Parab told PTI.

Her viscera has been preserved and will be sent for further examination to Central Forensic Science Laboratory at Hyderabad which is expected to reveal the exact reason for her death, he said.

The girl, Christina Kamser, had collapsed a little before the finishing line while running the 10-km rain marathon organised by a local club on July 31 at Bambolim stadium, located near Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

She was later taken to GMCH where doctors declared her brought dead.
