Army havaldar killed, jawan injured in TNT explosion at training session in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL: A TNT detonator explosion on Friday killed an army havaldar and critically injured a jawan, during a training session on explosives at the Maharaj Regimental Centre in Sagar district (200 km from here).

Havaldar Bakul Kumar (40), hailing from Gujarat, died while setting up a TNT detonator while training a group of jawans in TNT explosive detection and detonation, said Sagar Cant police station in-charge BM Dwivedi. 

Mahendra (jawan), who was part of the training exercise was critically injured and has been admitted to the military hospital. 

"The autopsy of the havaldar's body has been done and the matter has been registered under Section 174 CrPc," said Dwivedi, adding that “no foul play was detected”. 

A team of forensic experts and a bomb detection and disposal squad are at the spot, said Dwivedi.
