Jeep - scooter accident kills 3 in Punjab, 1 injured

Three persons were killed and another was injured when a jeep hit a two - wheeler near Parvez Nagar on Kapurthala-Goindwal road in Punjab on Saturday, police said.

KAPURTHALA (PUNJAB): Three persons were killed and another was injured when a jeep hit a two-wheeler near Parvez Nagar on Kapurthala-Goindwal road in Punjab on Saturday, police said.

The accident occurred this morning when Rajwant Singh (65) and Karanpreet Kaur (16) were going to Kapurthala on their scooter from Ucha village and they were hit by the jeep coming from the opposite direction, they said.

The driver, after hitting the two-wheeler, lost control over the vehicle and dashed against a roadside tree, police added.

Rajwant, his granddaughter Kanpreet and Ramneet Singh (35), who was in the jeep, were killed, they said, adding that the jeep driver, identified as Gurwinder Singh, sustained serious injuries in the incident.
