Tollywood co-producer held for impersonating PMO official

HYDERABAD: A 35-year-old Tollywood co-producer was arrested today for allegedly impersonating a senior PMO official and sending messages to various VIPs and other government officers, police said.
    
The accused, identified as V Anand Babu, sent messages from a mobile number to various VIPs and other government officers by identifying himself as Additional Secretary, PMO, and also as Personal Secretary to a senior IAS officer, who is the Chief Secretary to Telangana Chief Minister.

"He also made calls and messages to district collectors and superintendents of police making recommendation for jobs, postings, for accommodations and darshans in temples etc.," stated a release from the Central Crime Station— a wing of Hyderabad Police.
    
Babu had also allegedly cheated two persons under the pretext of providing them jobs in STPL (Software Technology Private Limited), New Delhi, by taking huge amount from them.
    
Police said the accused had procured the SIM card in a woman's name last November, which he used to send messages to the VIPs and other government offices.
