NASHIK: In a tragic incident, a widowed woman died after she fell into a well from a tree she had climbed to collect her daughter’s kite, said police on Monday.
Manisha Vijay Pawar (20), lived at a farm in CIDCO's Shivaji Chowk locality with her two-year-old daughter and mother, they said.
On Sunday, her daughter was flying a kite which got entangled on a tree, following which Manisha climbed it to retrieve the kite, but lost her balance and fell from it into the well, police said.
Fire brigade personnel rushed to the site and tried to save the woman, but did not succeed, they said.
After the post mortem in Nashik civil hospital, the body was handed over to the deceased's mother, they added.
