NEW DELHI: With temperatures in the national capital reaching unbearable limits the power demand reached its highest ever record across the country with 6,361 mega watt in Delhi. This is the highest ever recorded power demand generated by any city in the country.
“At 3:06 pm today the highest ever demand for power was generated in the city of 6,361 mega watt electricity in Delhi” said Rishi Raj Spokesperson of Delhi Transco Limited.
Such demand seemed to be soaring due to the rising temperatures in the city with maximum going upto 46 degrees Celsius during the day.
Three discoms -- Reliance ADAG-owned BSES and BRPL and Tata Power -- are in charge of supplying power across the national capital.
