Yogi to review Akhilesh’s decisions

He also laid stress on changing the work culture of local bodies especially the municipal corporations.

Lucknow: Making a fervent appeal to his Cabinet colleagues to live up to people’s expectations by ensuring them ‘good governance’ on the promise of which BJP got a huge mandate,  CM Yogi Adityanath asked the newly-appointed ministers to finetune the system in their respective departments so that people’s grievances could be addressed on priority. The CM was speaking during an informal interaction with his ministers after allocation of portfolios here on late on Wednesday.

Yogi dubbed many of previous government’s decisions taken after the notification of state polls inappropriate and unethical. He said that SP government had released huge amounts under several heads during that period and all such issues should be reviewed and analysed. “All the files related to the amounts over Rs five crore released under various heads should be forwarded to the Cheif Minister’s office,” said the CM.

He also laid stress on changing the work culture of local bodies especially the municipal corporations.

The CM also issued instructions to close illegal slaughter houses and meat shops, which were running without licence, immediately across the state. On the legal slaughter houses, he said fulfilment of the conditions of licence should be ensured. “If the licence holder will be found flouting the norms, his slaughter house will be immediately closed,” he maintained.

He also gave the directions to ensure that the meat shops were located at the proper distance from the religious places.  He also expressed his concern over the meat being sold in the open calling it a threat to health.

He also asked his minister to make use of social media platforms to reach out the people of the state. He also favoured the appointment of a technocrat in each department who can handle the social media efficiently so that the people should be kept adequately informed about the government’s working and its welfare schemes. He also asked the ministers concerned to initiate recruitment drive for government jobs.
