CHANDIGARH: A 22-year-old woman was abducted, gangragped and murdered by her jilted lover and his friend with her mutilated body being found in Rohtak. Stray dogs had bitten away the victim's face and lower portion of her body which was spotted by a passerby in the urban estate area of Rohtak on May 11, police said. The woman belonged to Sonepat in Haryana.
"Two persons, Sumit and Vikas, have been arrested in this connection," SP Sonipat, Ajay Malik said. Sumit was an acquaintance of the victim, he added.
After raping her, the alleged accused Sumit from Sonepat and his friend Vikas from Uttar Pradesh, mutilated her private parts with a sharp-edged weapon. They dumped her body at a secluded plot in the Urban Estate area of Rohtak town.
The body of the deceased woman was spotted by a passerby on Thursday. As per the post-mortem, the deceased was hit on the face by a brick probably to hide her identity and her skull was smashed in a way which indicates that she was run over by a vehicle.
The autopsy report indicates sexual molestation, mutilation of private parts, rape and murder. Some sedative was also found in her stomach.
Police sources claimed, according to the parents of the deceased, Sumit had been forcing their daughter to marry him. As she had refused his marriage proposal, the accused had come to their house with his friends leading to a heated argument post which their daughter slapped him.
The woman, who was a divorcee, was allegedly kidnapped from Sonipat on May 9 and taken to Rohtak in a car, police said.
The victim's parents had lodged a missing complaint at Sonipat police station.
