Government doctors in Rajasthan ended their week-long strike and resumed work after elaborate talks with the state government.

JAIPUR: Government doctors in Rajasthan ended their week-long strike and resumed work after elaborate talks with the state government.

A meeting, which started at 2 pm yesterday and continued till 11 pm, was held between the doctors and a delegation of state government officials. Upon reaching a consensus, the doctors called-off their strike, a press release said.

"The government has accepted most of our demands. Some of them have been referred to a high-power committee to find a solution. All doctors have returned to their duties from today," said Ajay Choudhary, president of All Rajasthan In- Service Doctors Association (ARISDA).

As many as 2,000 primary health centres (PHCs) and 569 community health centres (CHCs) along with several district hospitals were hit hard by the strike.
