Chhattisgarh accident: 7 killed, 20 injured as Allahabad-Bilaspur bus overturns

As many as seven passengers were killed and 20 others injured when a private bus overturned allegedly due to the negligence of the driver on Sunday morning at Banjari ghat.

RAIPUR: As many as seven passengers were killed and 20 others injured when a private bus overturned allegedly due to the negligence of the driver on Sunday morning at Banjari ghat in Pendra tehsil of Bilaspur district about 150 km east of Raipur.

According to the injured passengers, the driver and the conductor of the Allahabad-bound bus had got heavily drunk at a roadside dhaba. It overturned after the driver reportedly lost control of the bus, said the passengers.

Inhabitants living nearby immediately reached the spot and called the local administration who rescued the injured passengers and shifted to a nearby hospital.
