New flyover on the anvil

An 8-km flyover connecting Lalghati to Mubarakpur with an intersection at Gandhi Nagar along with a grid separator at the Lalghati intersection will be constructed as part of a National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) initiative. A much-needed rail-over-bridge (ROB) will also be built in the next few years. The development is likely to come as a relief for residents living in Panchwati and beyond. Residents of the area were demanding a flyover for a long time because frequent railway gate closing caused traffic jams. As per police records, a death due to accidents is reported every third day in the area. The new flyover and RoB are part of a larger project of connecting Bhopal with Biora in adjoining Rajgarh district.
