NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Friday suspended seven Delhi Police staff working with the third battalion for showing negligence during duty by giving relaxation to middleman Sukesh Chandrashekar allegedly involved in AIADMK symbol bribery case.

Delhi Police has initiated an inquiry against them after The New Indian Express reported it on Friday. “Seven police personnel have been suspended, inquiry will be conducted in a time-bound manner. Strict action will be taken based on the inquiry report,” chief public relation officer Dependra Pathak said on Friday.

The suspended staff were working with the third battalion of Delhi Police. The battalion is mainly responsible for safety and security of inmates while they move out from Delhi’s Tihar jail for court proceedings or for any other purposes.
