AIR to swap frequencies of FM Gold, Vividh Bharati

Listeners of popular radio channel FM Gold will soon have to tune their FM sets to a different frequency as the public broadcaster plans to change the frequency of the music channel.

CHENNAI: Listeners of popular radio channel FM Gold will soon have to tune their FM sets to a different frequency as the public broadcaster plans to change the frequency of the music channel. It has come to light that the frequency of the FM Gold channel of Delhi Station will be changed from 106.4 megahertz to 100.1 megahertz.Sources said that from April 9, 2018, the frequencies of Vividh Bharati and FM Gold will be swapped.

The programmes of FM Gold will be available on 100.1 MHz and of Vividh Bharati on 106.4 MHz. A Whatsapp message has been circulated among some staff of All India Radio (AIR), saying, “In this regard, a wide publicity is required to promote the branding of FM Gold on 100.1 MHz and Vividh Bharati on 106.4 MHz. Programme Sections do needful for publicity and promoting this branding.”However, the AIR Employees Association has objected to the change. In a letter to the DG, AIR, it said that the 106.4 MHz frequency was the very identity of the channel.
