RANCHI: One CRPF jawan was killed in Naxal encounter near Dalapani village under Galudih Police Station in East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand during a joint search operation of State Police and CRPF on Wednesday.
"The exchange of fire took place during a search operation at around 9 am on Wednesday during which one of our jawans, Nirmal Kumar Ghosh, died on the spot after being hit by a bullet," said CRPF PRO Prakash Badal.
The encounter took place on the borders of Jharkhand and West Bengal near Dalapani village under Galudih Police Station, he added.
Badal said that the jawan belonged to the 193Battalion of CRPF. Chief Minister Raghubar Das, expressing condolences on his demise, has assured all possible help the family members of diseased.
