Expert panel to clamp down on Taj pollution

The panel will include members from organisations such as the IITs and NEERI  and will be formed under CK Mishra, secretary, Environment, Forest and Climate Change ministry.

NEW DELHI:  The Centre will form an expert panel to clamp down on industrial pollution around Taj Mahal in order to preserve the monument, Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari said on Monday.The panel will include members from organisations such as the IITs and NEERI  and will be formed under CK Mishra, secretary, Environment, Forest and Climate Change ministry.

The panel will conduct a study on a case-to-case basis on hazardous industries around the Taj. “Hazardous industries will be shut down after the committee monitors the ground situation. It will be carried out in phased manner,” said Gadkari.
