Police inspector in Uttar Pradesh suspended after chat about transfer goes viral on social media

BULANDSHAHR: Dibai police station in-charge Parashuram was suspended on Tuesday under indisciplinary action after a chat on social media from the CUG number allotted to him, went viral few days back.

Senior Superintendent of Police Krishna B Singh here on Tuesday suspended the accused inspector and instructed for further probe into the matter.

A social media chat had gone viral from Inspector's phone, in which price for favoured posting was discussed.

The number used in chat was allotted to Inspector Parashuram.

Though he rejected the charges and claimed that he was a victim of cybercrime, a case was registered against him and SSP Bulandshahr has suspended him from immediate effect.

The probe was ordered against the website that published and posted the chat as news on social media.

In the chat, the price for favoured posting was mentioned and allegedly Parashuram said that he paid Rs 50,000 for his posting in Bulandshahr from Noida.
